A 4D study linking a LOD 300 structural BIM model to the construction schedule through Navisworks TimeLiner.
Challenge
The large building model needed to be legible by block and construction stage, with a direct relationship between model elements and the programme.
Approach
The structural BIM model was developed to LOD 300. Organising it by block made it possible to address element groups individually for coordination and scheduling.
Method
Model elements were linked to the construction schedule in Navisworks TimeLiner. Alongside BIM coordination, 4D visualization showed how the construction sequence unfolds over time.
Deliverables
A Revit model, IFC and NWD deliverables, and a schedule-linked 4D construction visualization.
Outcome
The work made the structural model a coordination tool for reviewing and discussing the construction sequence, as well as a geometric deliverable.
